As part of the major reforms to the agricultural and veterinary chemicals legislation which commenced on 1 July 2014, transitional arrangements were put in place.

These arrangements were designed to smooth the transition for:

• applications submitted before 1 July 2014, and
• chemical reviews already underway before 1 July 2014.

During the year from 1 July 2014 to 30 June 2015 assessment of applications and chemical reviews that were started before the reforms came into place continued to be carried out under the previous legislation. From 1 July 2015 these unfinalised applications are considered under the provisions of the current Agvet legislation.
